Robert E. Moll, Sr.

Robert E. Moll Sr. (Ben) age 87, passed into peaceful rest in his home on Friday, November 6th, 2015. Ben was predeceased by his beloved wife of 55 years, Marjorie. Ben cherished his family and made them the focus of his life. He was a long time resident of Fairfield and for the past 10 years lived in the home of his daughter and son-in-law. Ben was born in Bridgeport, CT and was the son of the late William Moll and Amelia Eisele Moll. He graduated from Bassick High School in 1946, Bullard Havens in 1948 and worked as a mechanical designer for 55 years, with the majority of his career spent as a Senior Designer at MSI in Fairfield where he retired at age 75. Being one of the original booth holders at the Stratford Antique Center, Ben also had a passion for antiques and collectibles.
Survivors include his sons, Robert E. Moll, Jr. and Maria Gunson of Cranston, R.I. & Chris W. Moll and his wife Patricia of Elmhurst, Il, his daughter Linda A. Conley and her husband Thomas of Fairfield, CT, seven grandchildren; Ryan Conley, his wife Rachel & their daughter Grace, Brett Conley, Amy Conley, Nicholas Moll, Elizabeth Moll, Annalise Moll & Rose Moll, and his dear friend Kathy Harrington. He was predeceased by his brother, William G. Moll of Fairfield, CT.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, November 14, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road, Fairfield with the Rev. David Spollett officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Fairfield. Friends may call Friday, November 13th from 6-8 p.m. and on Saturday from 9-11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in Ben's memory to Swim Across the Sound, 2800 Main Street, Bridgeport, CT 06606.
