Robert Murray, Jr., age 69, of Bridgeport, passed away Tuesday, February 11, 2025 at St. Vincent’s Medical Center. Born in Bridgeport, Robert had been a lifelong area resident. Robert graduated from Kolbe Cathedral High School. A talented and creative artist, he worked for many years as a window decorator for the Henry Lehr Clothing Stores and created many beautiful window displays in both the CT stores as well as in Manhattan. Robert also decorated windows for local salons and stores expressing his unique creativity and style. Most recently he worked in the Floral Department at the Stop & Shop on Kings Highway Cutoff in Fairfield. He also worked at the Fairfield Audubon Society’s Birdcraft Museum and Sanctuary. He will be sadly missed by his loving mother, Carmella (Maccharoli) Smriga of Bridgeport; two beloved sisters, Kim M. Watson and her husband Mark of Clermont, FL and Sheri Holy and her husband Kevin of West Haven; 5 nieces and nephews whom he adored, Marcus Watson, Zachary Watson, Mackenzie Holy, Connor Holy and Ethan Holy; a great-nephew Ocean Watson; his life partner and best friend, Ralph Minopoli of Bridgeport and many cousins. He was predeceased by his father Robert Murray. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, February 20, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Pius X Church, 834 Brookside Drive, Fairfield. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers friends may consider a donation in Robert’s memory to the CT Audubon Society, 2325 Burr Street, Fairfield, CT 06824.
