Robert Edward Power (Ty), age 77 of Fairfield, beloved husband of Elizabeth Golino Manente Power passed away Saturday, August 8, 2015 at the CT Hospice, Branford. Born January 8, 1938 in the Bridgeport, the son of the late Patrick and Catherine Power, he had been a Fairfield/Southport resident for most of his life. He graduated from Roger Ludlowe High School and South Dakota Wesleyan University. Robert was a Program Supervisor at the Gardner Institute in Newtown, was a substitute teacher in Fairfield and was the former Executive Director of the Wakeman Boys & Girls Club in Southport. He was instrumental in the change from Boys Club to Boys & Girls Club at Wakeman. In his youth Robert played many sports in high school and college and was an avid jogger and believed in physical fitness. Survivors in addition to his wife Elizabeth include a step-daughter Lisa Fabrizi, a step-son, Jeffrey Manente, a daughter-in-law, Nicole and three grandchildren, Alison Steferak, Gabriella Fabrizi and Michael Manente. Robert is also survived by two sisters, Gail Tazczali (Edward) and Jane Brady (Matthew); a brother-in-law, Tom Keeley as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his beloved daughter, Megan Victoria, brothers, William and David and a sister Patricia Keeley. Friends and family are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 149 South Pine Creek Road, Fairfield.
