Robert G. Roach

Robert G. Roach (Bob "Bobby), 64 of Wilton, CT passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 16, 2020. He now rests in peace following a hard fought battle with Parkinson's disease. He is survived by his beloved wife, Paula Roach, his son and daughter-in-law, David and Rita Roach, his daughter and son-in-law Jennifer and Joseph Walker, and his five beautiful grandchildren Lila, Sofia, Liam, Isabelle, and Ryan. He will also be missed dearly by his sisters
Doreen Palm and Diane Vik, and his brother Eddie Roach. Bob was born to Sally and Edward Roach on February 4, 1956 and grew up in Yorktown Heights, NY. He attended local schools and graduated from Yorktown High School where he was the star of the High School basketball team and Yorktown hall of fame inductee. He achieved the all league basketball player award in both 1973 and 1974. Bob then went on to receive a basketball scholarship to Dawson College in Montana and later in life proudly attended each and every one of his son David's college games. After college, Bob married his high school sweetheart, Paula Cassetta, and settled in Mount Kisco, NY. Bob became a police officer and was promoted to detective and retired as a Sargent. In addition, he implemented and taught the extremely successful D.A.R.E program (drug, awareness, resistance, education) in the local school system. After retiring from the police force he continued his passion of helping the youth by receiving his masters in education
from Manhattanville College. He then became a special education teacher in Patterson. Bob will be remembered for his love for the game of basketball, his charming smile and good looks, his sense of humor, his drive to succeed and his willingness to always help those around him. Above all Bob's greatest achievement in life was his family; his children and grandchildren gave him so much joy and happiness. He was a devoted and loving father, an incredibly
involved grandfather and he will be missed by all that knew him. To offer an online condolence please visit www.SpearFuneralHome.com
