Roberta E. (Holland) Byrne

Roberta E. Byrne, age 87, formerly of Fairfield, beloved wife of the late Robert E. Byrne, passed away peacefully Thursday, June 27, 2024 at St. Vincent’s Medical Center.  Born in Harrison, NY, the daughter of the late Walter and Lucy Holland, she had been a Fairfield resident for 46 years prior to moving in with her son, Robert and his family.  Roberta enjoyed a 40 year career as a Paralegal for various law practices; retiring from the Fairfield Probate Court.  She also taught Paralegal classes at Fairfield University.  Roberta was an active member and past Membership Chair at the Gaelic American Club in Fairfield where she met many friends.  She will be sadly missed by her loving son Robert J. Byrne, his wife Monica and her beloved granddaughters, Megan and Mary of Shelton;  two nephews, Ken and Chris Holland. She loved spending time with her granddaughters and their cousins, Matty and Katie Schmith, Jake and Lindsey Iadarola who affectionately called her Grammie Bobbie. She was predeceased by her brother, Kenneth Holland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, July 9, 2024 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 1719 Post Road, Fairfield.  Interment will follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery.  Friends may call Monday, July 8th from 4-7 p.m. in the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road, Fairfield.  In lieu of flowers, friends may consider a donation in Roberta’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association, 200 Executive Blvd., Suite 4B, Southington, CT  06489.
