Robyn Swan Filippone died in Bridgeport Hospital on April 18th, 2017. Robyn was born on September 9, 1954. She graduated from the University of Vermont, did her Masters work at the University of Wisconsin in Madison and got a Degree in Library Science from Southern Connecticut State University. She worked for many years at the Swan Engraving Company and at her death was employed at the Pequot Library in Southport and the Fairfield Museum. Robyn enjoyed traveling with friends and family, was an accomplished gardener and took wonderful pictures of family, friends and events. She was very passionate about genealogy and actively pursued researching her family history as well as helping others in the community discover their history through the Pequot Library Genealogical Roundtable. She also helped out with many public events that the library held. She volunteered in several archaeological digs throughout the town and helped publish reports for them. She served many years on the Board of Directors (for the past several years as Secretary) for the Archaeological Society of Connecticut where her volunteerism led to her being awarded the Russell Award for that organization in 2014. Robyn is survived by her mother, Marie, her sister Heather, her brother Stuart, one niece and three nephews, and a great niece and great nephew.
