Ronald Thomas Bartovic, 80, of Black Rock, formerly of Southport, passed away on January 19, 2023. Ron was the devoted husband for 59 years to Henrietta Enama Bartovic. He was born in Bridgeport on October 17, 1942 to the late John and Rita Gadios Bartovic.
After graduation from high school, Ron proudly served his country in the US Navy which continued as a reservist for over 17 years. Ron was an electrical engineer for many companies locally throughout his career. He enjoyed bowling and baseball. Ron had an artistic streak which followed him throughout his life through painting and drawing. His greatest enjoyment was being with his family and friends.
A collision in the hallway of Bullard Havens in 1958 started a lifelong love affair for Ron. Ron and Henrietta enjoyed traveling and seeing the world together. They are the proud parents of Brian and Theresa (Phil). He also leaves his brother-in-law, Benjamin (Anne) Sugden. He was the godfather to Michelle Augustine.He also leaves behind severl nephews. Ron was predeceased by his sister Cynthia. The family would like to thank the staff at Lord Chamberlain for the compassionate care they have shown to Ron and his family.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday January 26 at 10AM at St Thomas Aquinas Church, Fairfield. Interment with full Military Honors will follow in Lawncroft Cemetery. Family and friends may visit Wednesday from 5PM-8PM at the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Rd., Fairfield, CT. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the NICU Fund at Yale New Haven Hospital. Please send donations in memory of Ronald to Yale New Haven Hospital Office of Development, PO Box 1849, New Haven, CT 06508. Checks may be made out to “ Yale New Haven Hospital ” with ( Ronald Bartovic and NICU Fund ) indicated in the memo line. Memorial donations may also be made online at www.givetoynhh.org/nicu .
