Rose Marie "Rosie" Schofield

Rose Marie “Rosie” Schofield, 92, formerly of Easton, was reunited in Heaven with her husband Larry on their 70th wedding anniversary. Rosie was born in Hamburg, Wisconsin on August 21, 1932 to the late Edwin and Hertha Ollmann.

Rosie’s career as a Registered Nurse spanned many decades and she provided skilled care to countless patients. Her strong work ethic and dedication to providing care & comfort was evident to all people who interacted with her.

A longstanding member of Black Rock Congregational Church in Fairfield, Rosie sang in the Church Choir and was involved in many related activities there. In her free time, she loved tending to her yard, gardening and enjoyed many craft projects. An avid sports fan, especially of NBA Basketball, she loved to follow the players and could rattle off statistics like the best of sports commentators. Rosie liked to travel, with one of her most treasured memories being a trip to The Holy Land with her sister Patricia Bestul, as well as an earlier trip to Germany.

Rosie is survived by her 4 children: Patricia (Kevin) Travnicek, Glenn (Allison) Schofield, Dale (Dorine) Schofield and Sharon Daconto. She is also lovingly remembered by 6 grandchildren: Corinne & Jessica Painter, Anthony Daconto, Sean (Jessica) Schofield, Emily (Rocco) Cipriano and Stephanie Schofield. She also has 4 great-grandchildren: Jade Severn, Kayla Schofield, Brooke & Emerson Cipriano…and a 5th little Angel baby boy expected this December.

A Graveside service will be held on Monday October 7 at 12:30PM at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Fairfield. Friends and family may visit at the Spear-Miller Funeral Home on Monday from 10AM-12PM. Flower arrangements are being coordinated through Hansen’s Flower Shop in Fairfield
