Rose Toth Markoya

Rose Toth Markoya, age 94, beloved wife to the late Louis Markoya, died peacefully at home in Shelton, CT, on August 21,2024.

Rose is survived by her four children, Louis Markoya Jr., and his wife Mei of St. Petersburg, FL; Pamela Markoya of Santa Fe, NM; Arlene Markoya Lawrence, and her husband Steve of Monroe; David Markoya, and his wife Bonnie of Derby; seven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

A long-time resident of Fairfield, Rose was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed playing bingo and cards and traveling throughout the United States with close friends. Rose’s greatest joy in life was to spend time with her family at frequent gatherings. She loved to cook and entertain and would send everyone home with delicious leftovers as long as you promised to return her Tupperware.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 14, from 9:00-11:00 a.m. at Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 S Benson Rd., Fairfield, CT. Her interment will follow at Lawncroft Cemetery, Fairfield.
