Rosemarie Schlenk Wilkinson

Wilkinson, Rosemarie (Schlenk) of Fairfield, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away on August 7, 2020 at home with her children present.
Born in Bridgeport, CT to the late Josef and Caroline (Hamilton) Schlenk, she resided in Fairfield for over 70 years. She earned her teaching certificate from The Fannie A. Smith School in Bridgeport, CT and her teaching degree from Western CT State College. Mrs. Wilkinson was a primary school educator who spent over 30 years teaching kindergarten and first grade in Fairfield and Bridgeport Public Schools. She was an avid traveler who visited multiple locations on six continents with her husband, John.

She was predeceased by her loving husband, John A. in 2011 and her son, John J. in 2017. Rosemarie was also predeceased by her brother J. Robert and her sister, Grace McPadden. Rosemarie is survived by her son, Joseph A. Wilkinson, MD and his wife, Eileen Wilkinson, PhD of Greenwich; her daughter Diane W. Foley and her husband, Daniel of Bristol; her daughter-in-law, Chellon (Tammie) Wilkinson of Branford, and five grandchildren, Christopher Wilkinson, Elise Wilkinson Waggner, John J. Wilkinson, Jr., Rose Martel-Foley and Daniel Foley; four great- grandchildren, Ava Wilkinson, and Daniel, Joseph, and Laurel Martel-Foley.

Services will be private for the family. The Spear-Miller Funeral Home will be in charge of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers you may wish to make a donation to a charity of your own choosing.
