She was an avid gardener, an antique dealer, she loved a great flea market, galavanting with her sister and her niece, a Star Trek fan (Captain Janeway), an Eric Clapton fan, and would put her children in front of the TV to witness every major historical event. She spent the last eleven years caring for her granddaughter. She was generous, caring, independent, and had an open door for everyone. She perfected her recipe for “Sunday sauce” and loved to cook food from all cultures. She never trusted anyone to make her coffee, including her daughter. For most of her life, she had a sign in her kitchen which read, “A woman needs a man like a fish needs a bicycle”.
