Ruby Saldanha

Ruby Saldanha passed away peacefully at the age of 86, surrounded by her loving family on September 19th, 2022.

Ruby was born in Mumbai, India on July 22nd, 1936 and spent most of her life there. She moved to Fairfield, CT in 2005 to be with her immediate family.

Ruby was predeceased by her husband Norbert Saldanha and her brother Gerald, Nesbit, Martin-Raymond and sister Lynette.

Ruby was a kind, generous and loving person, a beautiful soul with boundless energy who loved cooking, baking, gardening, music, scrabble and keeping house. She was a good singer and a devoted wife and mother who sacrificed much and gave unconditional Love to her family.

She was a devout Catholic, involved in her church and who prayed everyday for everyone in the family.

She loved to pamper her grandsons. She rarely took a break, even in her later years and often watched Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune, the Food Channel and the news, whenever she could.

Ruby is survived by her daughter, Neisha D’Souza, her husband Adolf D’Souza and grandson Dallas from Alexandria, Virginia and her son Ovrille Saldanha and grandsons Tristan and Austin from Fairfield, CT.

She is also survived by her brothers Jolyon, Nesbit and sisters Jessie, Connie, Betty and Ramona in India.
