Ruth M. Citarella

Ruth M. Citarella, age 96, of Fairfield, beloved wife of the late Paul Joseph Citarella, passed away peacefully Friday, November 1, 2019. Born in Avoca, PA, the daughter of the late Harry and Mildred Patterson, she had been a Fairfield resident since 1957. Mrs. Citarella proudly worked as a riveter during World War II at Sikorsky Aircraft. She then worked for the Microphase Corporation in Greenwich and Norden Technologies. She was one of the founding members of Fairfield Grace United Methodist Church and remained active until her later years. Ruth loved to crochet, read books and play Bingo. Her greatest joy was spending time with her loving family; telling stories and playing with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include her beloved son, Gary A. Citarella and his wife Nancy of Milford; three loving grandchildren, Dana L. Procaccini and her husband, Timothy, Ryan A. Citarella, and Amy L. Stafford and her husband, Steven; five cherished great-grandchildren, Luke, Abigail, Rylynn, Kurt, and Kaitlyn, a sister, Sandra Rosser, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Paul Joseph Citarella, Jr., brothers, Harry (Buddy) Patterson, Arnold, John, Joe, Ken, and Paul Patterson, and a sister, Mary Moses. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, November 6, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Fairfield Grace United Methodist Church, 1089 Fairfield Woods Road, Fairfield with the Rev. Kun Sam Cho officiating. Interment will follow in Lawncroft Cemetery. Friends may greet the family Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road, Fairfield.
