Ruth Ellen Neverdousky

Ruth Ellen (Young) Neverdousky, aged 80, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Nov. 5, 2017. Ruth is survived by her children Joseph Neverdousky III, Pamela Pottinger and her husband Stefan Pottinger, Michael Neverdousky and Kristin Smith. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren Erik Pottinger of Boston and Kayla Pottinger of Vernon. Ruth leaves behind her loving companion, William (Billy) Gilhuly. The family is eternally grateful for the kind and compassionate care Billy provided for Ruth. Ruth is also survived by her sisters- in- law Gaylen Young and Katheryn Young, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Neverdousky Jr., two brothers Richard Young and Jesse Young and her sister Mary Anne Young.
Ruth was a devoted mother who raised her four children near the beach in Fairfield, CT. Her greatest joy was family gatherings and attending her children's sporting events and supporting them anyway she could. She loved playing bocce with her sons' on team "Never Doubt Me" and later in life became her sons' #1 bocce fan. Nothing made her prouder than her adoring grandchildren and celebrating all their accomplishments.
Ruth was known for the twinkle in her bright blue eyes, incredible wit, sense of humor and love of anything Irish. Spending time with Ruth and her sister Mary Anne was truly a memorable experience full of laughs and good cheer. Ruth was loved very much and will be very dearly missed by her family and friends.
Friends may greet Ruth's family Saturday, November 18, 2017 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road, Fairfield.
