Ruth M. Rodrigue

Ruth M. Rodrigue, age 96, of Southbury, formerly of Black Rock, passed away peacefully Sunday, July 29, 2018 at the River Glen Health Care Center. Born and raised in Milford, the daughter of the late Vincent and Gertrude Rodrigue, she had been a Black Rock resident for over 60 years. She was a graduate of Milford High School and served as a Census taker in 1940 in Walnut Beach. Ruth began her career as a bookkeeper at Remington Arms in 1940, retiring in 1984. Ruth was a parishioner for many years of St. Ann's Church in Black Rock. She will be fondly remembered as a loyal and devoted daughter, sister and aunt who always placed the needs of her family first. Predeceased by four siblings, Vincent E. Rodrigue, Gertrude Rodrigue, Charlotte Rodrigue and Kenneth Rodrigue, and nephew Seth Walot, she is survived by her loving nieces and nephews, Robert Rodrigue and his wife Mary Ann of Portland, ME, Lauren Moore and her husband Burns of Nokesville, VA, Michele Walot and her husband Irwin of Irvine, CA, Joseph Rodrigue of Irvine, CA and Robin Rodrigue of Woodbury; four grandnieces and nephews; eight great-grand nieces and nephews and her very dear special friends, Josephine and Howard Kelly, Jordan D'Amico and the Rev. George "Chip" O'Neill, her favorite priest. The family would like to thank Visiting Angels in Woodbridge and River Glen Health Care Center in Southbury for their wonderful care, and Sister Patricia Rickus for her many years of support. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Ann's Church, Bridgeport. Interment will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery, Stratford.
