Sarah Marie Allen, 40, of Black Rock, CT passed away unexpectedly at her home on July 25, 2022. Sarah
was born in Stratford, CT to the late Ronald and Susan Allen on October 14, 1981.
Sarah was a graduate of Bunnell High School, 2000 in Stratford, CT. As an Operations Manager at
Wayforth, Inc., she worked hard because she loved her job and the people. She was a wildly spirited
woman. Anyone in her large social circle can attest she was a social whirlwind. You most certainly
walked away with a story…or four with Sarah. She was so very personable to those that met her. She
was an immediate friend you felt you knew for a long time.
Sarah left her mark on this world with her energetic personality and charisma. She was an incredible
musical genius. She was a self-trained musician who had the gift of listening to any song and then was
able to replicate it on the piano, guitar, or drums. Her talent for being able to do this was a stunning
experience for her family and friends.
Sarah loved to camp in Massachusetts and take road trips. She was a fun social gossiper, who loved
Taylor swift. She adored every animal she ever met; including those she picked up off the side of the
road! She was a dog owner, and a foster mom for any animal in need.
Sarah was the loving sister of Heather Burkett of Merrimac, MA, Justin Allen of Chicago, IL, and
Christopher Allen of San Francisco, CA. She leaves behind her beloved aunt, Mary Pennachio of
Wingdale, NY, Brother-in-law, Owen Burkett, and cherished niece, Keira Burkett. It must be noted she
left behind a vast number of friendships she made along her journey in life. She will be mourned by so
many, including her closest friend, George Fappiano of West Haven, CT and partner, Lisa DeRosa of
West Haven, CT.
Family and friends may visit on Monday August 1st from 3-7 PM at the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39
South Benson Road, Fairfield. A funeral service will take place on Tuesday August 2 at 11 AM at the
First Church, 148 Beach Road, Fairfield. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to
Spear-Miller Funeral Home.
