Shannon Lynn Sadler

Shannon Lynn Sadler, age 48, of Milford, passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2020 with her loving family by her side. Born in Bridgeport to William and Doreen Sadler, she moved to Largo, Florida in 1975 at the age of 4. In 1985 she and her mother moved back to Connecticut. While in high school she played for the Trumbull High All Star softball team and was a "kickass first base woman." Shannon graduated from Trumbull High School in 1989 and later completed courses at Central Connecticut State Univerisity in New Britain. She was the opening store manager at Home Depot in Stratford and continued to work for the company when she moved to San Diego, CA and Boulder, CO. Shannon loved to travel and frequently went back to Florida, usually to for MLB Spring Training to watch the Yankees and the Tampa Bay Rays. Her love for sports extended beyond just baseball and was a loyal Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan. Anyone who knew Shannon knew she was very crafty and handy, taking on projects from remodeling bathrooms to stained glass to teaching her nieces how to use power tools. She loved having company over her house for "dinner parties" and loved to cook for her friends and family. Shannon is survived by her parents, Doreen Sadler of Milford and Bill Sadler of Largo, FL; a brother, Lenny Sadler of Milford; two nieces, Shannon Sadler of Milford and Leah Michalewicz of Ansonia; her significant other, Chris Zak; an uncle, George Pickup of Milford; an aunt, Deborah Daniels of Milford; many other aunts and uncles in both CT and FL; numerous cousins; and her faithful four-legged companion, Benjamin. A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, March 9, 2020 at 7:00pm at the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road, Fairfield CT 06824. Friends and family are invited to gather at the Spear-Miller Funeral Home on Monday from 4:00pm until the time of the service.
