Shirley Coletti

Shirley (nee Blackadar) Coletti of Fairfield, Connecticut, passed away peacefully at the age of 101 on March 10, 2025. She was the beloved daughter of the late Arthur Blackadar and Norma (nee Pierce) Blackadar and wife of the late Paul J. Coletti

Shirley is survived by her children Suzanne Bernard Peters of Media, PA, Bruce Coletti of Fairfield, CT, David Coletti of Jupiter, FL, and Pamela Hoeplinger of Stratford, CT, along with her grandchildren, Matthew Bernard, Bradford Bernard, John Coletti, Mark Hoeplinger, Lexi Coletti and great-granddaughters Claire Bernard, Megan Bernard, and Lily Bernard.

Shirley grew up in Fairfield, CT, and graduated from Roger Ludlowe High School. Following secretarial school, she worked in the administrative office of the U.S. Army Air Corps, where she met her late husband, Paul Coletti. Shirley and Paul were married on December 2, 1944, and resided in Fairfield, CT, where they raised their four children. Shirley spent many years working as the office manager of her husband's company, Chemical Services, Inc.

Shirley loved her family and cherished her visits and travels with her son, David, and daughter-in­law, Gail Charles. After many years of visiting family in CT, PA, and FL, Shirley resided with her daughter Suzanne and son-in-law John Peters for 2 ½ years at Springton Lake Village, in Media, PA, where she made many close friends. Following a stroke, Shirley moved from PA to Carolton Nursing Home in Fairfield, CT, where she celebrated her 100th birthday surrounded by family and friends, including her sister Muriel (nee Blackadar) Williams and her husband John (Jack) Williams of Fairfield.

Family and friends may visit on Wednesday May 28th from 10-12, with a Memorial service at 12 at the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Rd. Fairfield. Interment will be private.
