Shirley Frances Skoog

Shirley F. Skoog, age 94, of Fairfield, beloved wife of the late Harry L. Skoog, passed away peacefully Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at the CT Hospice, Branford. Born in Bridgeport, the daughter of the late Edward and Emily Zehnder, she had been a Fairfield resident for most of her life. A member for many years of First Church Congregational, she found great pleasure volunteering for 18 years at The Store. Shirley delighted spending the last 12 years at Parish Court where she developed many friendships. Survivors include two beloved children, Robert L. Skoog and his wife Margaret of Trumbull and Nancy Faitsch and her husband Bruce of Guilford; a sister, Barbara Sell of Wisconsin; six grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren; and four nieces. A memorial service will be held Friday, August 8, 2014 at 12:00 p.m. in the Community Room at Parish Court, Fairfield with the Rev. David Spollett officiating. Interment will be private in Mountain Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Macular Degeneration Foundation, PO Box 515, Northampton, MA 01061-0515.
