Susan Joyce Hallama

Susan Joyce Hallama, 72, of Bridgeport passed away peacefully on November 9, 2023 with her loving husband, Daniel J. Hallama, II by her side.

Born on June 30th, 1951 to the late William and Helen (Asterby) Allen. Sister to the late Billy Allen, Nancy Baran, Helen Todaro and, survived by Leslie Allen (Jim) Downey.

Susan is survived by her devoted husband, Daniel II and their children; Daniel J. (Renee) Hallama, III of Meriden CT, Timothy (Julie) Hallama of Tulsa, OK, Dennis Hallama of Bridgeport, CT & Melisa (Victor) Hallama Santiago of Orlando, FL; grandchildren, Jonathan (Jeremy) Ellis-Hallama (son of Daniel III), Macy & Beckett Hallama (children of Timothy & Julie), and Isabelle & Elliott (children of Melisa & Victor); sister-in-law, Diane Collins; along with many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Susan enjoyed life as a wife and mother staying home to raise her children for many years. As her children grew older, she found a career as a school bus driver where she remained for over 25 years. This allowed her to continue her love of working with children. In her free time, she enjoyed vacationing and cruising around the world with her husband and dear friends, Cindy and Ed Terifay. Providing her the most joy was time spent with her grandchildren in their earlier years while living in Connecticut, as well as endlessly traveling to visit her grandchildren in Florida.

The family would like to extend deep gratitude to the team on the 1st and 2nd floor at the Ludlowe Center for Rehabilitation in Fairfield, as well as the Constellation Hospice nurses for the patience and loving care they provided to Susan and the entire family in her final days.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10AM on Saturday December 16, 2023 at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 1719 Post Rd. Fairfield, CT. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Susan Hallama can be made to: The Dementia Society of America , PO Box 600 Doylestown, PA 18901
