Trice P. (Bea) Swanson

Beatrice P. Swanson (Bea), age 86, of Fairfield, CT, formerly of White Plains, NY, beloved wife of the late Walter Swanson, passed away Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at the Carolton Convalescent Hospital, Fairfield. Born in Lancaster, PA the daughter of the late William and Esta Jacobson, she had been a White Plains resident for many years prior to moving to Fairfield three years ago. Mrs. Swanson first worked as a telephone operator for the Bell Telephone Company prior to beginning a long career in retail sales for the Sears & Roebuck Company in White Plains. She was an avid reader, loved her cats and delighted in time spent with her family, especially her cherished grandchildren. Survivors include her beloved daughter Susan Shea and her husband John of Fairfield; two loving grandchildren, Jonathan and Katelyn Shea of New York City; and two special cousins, Arline Stauffer Rutt and Sylvia Hiepler of Lancaster, PA. Friends may greet the family Saturday, April 12, 2014 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road, Fairfield. A service celebrating her life will be held at the conclusion of the visitation. Interment will be private.
