Vincent Joseph Tumminello, Md

Dr. Vincent Joseph Tumminello, 79, passed away on December 25, 2021, in Fairfield, CT.

Born and raised in Stamford, CT, he attended St. Basil’s Preparatory School before going on to earn a B.S. at  Holy Cross College in Worcester, MA. He graduated from Tufts Medical School in Boston, MA in 1968 and interned at Baylor Hospital in Houston, TX. He then completed a four year residency at Weil Cornell Hospital in New York in Urological Surgery.

Dr. Tumminello proudly served as a Lieutenant Commander in the U.S. Coast Guard, working aboard an icebreaking ship as the medical officer off the northern coast of Alaska before settling in Somers and Westport, CT. He practiced as a Board Certified Urologist for over 30 years in Stamford where he thoroughly enjoyed caring for his patients and working with the staff at Stamford Hospital.

Dr. Tumminello is survived by his spouse, Maureen Dunne, a son, Michael and his wife, Nicole, as well as two grandsons, Dean and Will, residents of Brooklyn, NY and a second son, Peter, who resides in Los Angeles. He is also survived by a brother Jack, who lives in Boston, MA.

A Memorial Service will be held in the spring for family and friends.
