Wilbur W Troland

Wilbur Wallace Troland. Age 91, passed away in peace on September 21, 2014 at home with his family in Fairfield. He is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Barbara, his children, Douglas and Lisa; son in law, Greg Stebner, nieces and nephews and grandpup Monty. Bill was born Nov. 7, 1922 in Bridgeport, son of the late William and Viola Troland and raised in Lordship. He graduated with a degree in Journalism from Ohio University. He served in WWII in the US Navy as a Navy Pilot. His passion for flying continued throughout his life as he flew his Cessna from Bridgeport Airport to Nantucket and Cape Cod and runways far and wide. He was happiest in the skies when he was not running his advertising agency of 60 years, playing tennis and enjoying a robust social life with his many dear friends.
