William T. Delaurentis

William T. DeLaurentis, age 87, of Vernon, beloved husband of Claudette Cantara DeLaurentis, passed away Friday, February 21, 2014 at Rockville General Hospital. Born in Italy, the son of the late Joseph and Catherine DeLaurentis, he came to the United States when he was two months old and had been a Fairfield resident for many years prior to moving to Vernon in 1971. He graduated from Roger Ludlowe High School and served in the United States Army during World War II. William worked for Sears and Roebuck, operated his own hearing aide business and then became manager at the Veritype Company in Bridgeport. He was also involved in local politics while living in Vernon. Survivors in addition to his loving wife Claudette include a son, Joseph E. DeLaurentis of Lugoff, SC; two sisters, Madeline Sulkazi and Sarah Parrello of Fairfield; a sister-in-law, Nancy DeLaurentis of Fairfield; three grandchildren, Mikole DeLaurentis of Yucca Valley, CA, Cheyenne DeLaurentis of Luguff, SC and Jada Sifuentes of Manchester, CT; a great-grandson, Antonio Gonzales of Manchester, CT; nephews, Anthony and Thomas DeLaurentis of Fairfield, Mark DeLaurentis of Plano, TX and Louis Sulkazi of Fairfield. He was predeceased by a brother, Anthony J. DeLaurentis. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, February 27, 2014 at 12:00 p.m. at Holy Family Church, 700 Old Stratfield Road, Fairfield. Interment with military honors will follow in Lawncroft Cemetery, Fairfield.
