William F. Kenney

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of William F. Kenney, age 80, lovingly known as Bill, on July 3, 2023. Bill was born on April 13, 1943 in Bridgeport, CT. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Betty Kenney, his parents, William and Lois Kenney, and his sister, Patricia Belle.

Bill was a graduate of Roger Ludlowe High School, class of 1961. He was a longtime resident of Fairfield and Bridgeport CT. Bill loved sharing stories of growing up in Fairfield.

He had a lifelong career working for local grocers, most notably many years with Stop & Shop.

Spending quality time with his family and friends at picnics and holiday celebrations  brought him immense joy.

A big part of his heart was dedicated to animals. Bill’s beloved pets brought him immeasurable happiness.

Bill was a passionate baseball fan and supported the Mets with unwavering loyalty.

As we bid farewell to our dear dad and grandpa, let us remember him for his appreciation of life's simple pleasures: heartfelt phone conversations, decking the halls (with lots of tinsel), cheering on his favorite team, and of course, a good cheeseburger.

Bill leaves behind his loving family, including his son Kurt Kenney and wife Zoe, his daughter Karen Wallace and husband Lew, and Beth Hackett (Michael). He is also survived by his grandchildren, Kelly Mahoney (Will), Allison Wallace, Haley Wallace Van Fleet (Nicholas), Mackenzie Kenney (Alyssa), Zachary Kenney, as well as his two great grandsons, Rowan and Tatum Mahoney.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all at Mozaic Senior Services who took great care of our dad. We are grateful for each of you.

Services will be held privately.
