William Scott Rainsberger, age 62, of Fairfield, CT passed away on May 25th, 2017 surrounded by his family.
Bill was born in Alliance, Ohio on July 7th, 1954 to Mary Rainsberger-Kibler and William Rainsberger.
Bill grew up in Alliance, Ohio. He attended Regina Coeli Elementary School, St. Thomas Aquinas High School, and John Carroll University where he received a degree in accounting.
He began work at the IBM Corporation in June of 1976 and remained there for 40 years in various executive leadership positions. Career highlights included being part of team that acquired and integrated PWC Consulting into IBM in 2002. His career was global in scope as he held leadership roles several international destinations including Paris, Tokyo, Milan, and Dublin. He retired in August of 2015.
Bill was an avid golfer. He was a member of Brooklawn Country Club for 25 years where he served as handicap chairman for periods of time.
Bill is survived by brother John Rainsberger, wife Michelle Rainsberger, daughter Beth Edmondson, son Tim Rainsberger, son-in-law Scott Edmondson, grandchildren Kate and Henry.
Bill is preceded in death by his father William Rainsberger, his aunt Carol Scott Gwin, and his uncle Jack Gwin.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, June 3, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. meeting directly at St. Pius X Church, 834 Brookside Drive, Fairfield. Interment will follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Fairfield. Friends may call Friday from 4-7 p.m. in the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road, Fairfield.
